In the five minutes I have to post...

...I'm afraid I have more prom pictures.

My sweet friend Janet was at the local botanical gardens taking pictures of her son and his friends when she spotted Sutton and her friends. Lucky for us Janet took some pictures of our girls and they turned out bea-u-ti-ful.

Thank you Janet!

She's in

My computer isn't working since little Peyton decided to pull the cable with all her might and cause a short. Jimmy won a new cable on eBay but he forgot to look and see where the cable was coming from...it's coming from Hong Kong so I doubt it'll be here any time soon.

Waaaaaa!

I have access to Jimmy's computer but I can only use it after the market closes.

Waaaaaa! again.

But I am on here tonight just long enough to download Reagan's National Junior Honor Society induction pictures. The entire family went, though Jimmy and I took shifts walking the little ones outside.

Prom!

Sutton decided this year to go to her senior prom with a bunch of girls (more of those pictures to follow...sorry:-) And since I am physically incapable of picking just a couple of pictures to post, here are quite a few shots from last night.

I know I am probably a little biased, but believe me when I say that she looked even more beautiful in person than I was able to capture on film.

Little boy love

He left it on my pillow
He makes just what he knows
A picture of Plankton he drew me
His love for me he shows

It's not a box of chocolates
Or flowers that he grew
But the kind of love little boys give
When they love you through and through.

Tub tumble

Little Landon (4) fell in the bathtub last night, hitting the side of the tub with his chin, and causing a very ugly gash.

Very ugly.

It was so ugly (and bloody) that Jimmy gave me the would-you-be-quiet(!) look when I gasped once we found the source of ALL THAT BLOOD.

Did I mention it was ugly? And bloody?

So, Jimmy ran him to the ER doctor who lives across the street who confirmed that the injury did, indeed, need stitches.

Great.

Landon was crying. Hayden was crying because Landon was crying. Keaton was crying because Hayden and Landon were crying. Peyton was crying because, well, she's a baby.

I didn't cry, but could have.

So Jimmy and Landon took off to Care Now where the doctor there confirmed that the injury did need attention but that he could use Dermabond instead.

Thank you God for Dermabond.

Here's his triage picture where he's looking pretty pitiful:

And just so you know he recovered rather quickly (ahem, grandparents), here is Mr. Tub Tumbler showing off his injury when he returned home:

All better :-)

I should really make better choices

I just ate dessert for dinner.

No dinner, just dessert.

And it tasted really good.

Now I feel so bad.

But it tasted really, really good.

I don't mean to make light of it

But doesn't this picture remind you of that poor priest who disappeared while riding a chair attached to hundreds of balloons?

However, this man's a Father of a different kind...mine.

I'll check our schedule

Hayden: Mom, can we go to Germany?

Mom: What? Germany? Why?

Hayden: Because I want to go there and see Johann Sebastian Bach's head bone.

Mom: You mean his skull, or maybe his bust?

Hayden: Yeah, that. And I want to take it school and show my friends.

Mom: I'm not sure that Germany would let us bring it home.

Hayden: Oh, they will. And can we go this Saturday? I have music class on Monday and I want to show all my friends.

Bunny twouble

Before his "church class" today...

Mom: "Landon, you'll be studying the letter W today in school. It makes the sound Wa-Wa-Wa. Think really hard; what word begins with W and makes the sound Wa-Wa-Wa?"

Landon (4 and without hesitation): "Wabbit."

Her honor

Whoo Hoo! and Yee Haw! to Reagan (7th grade) for being selected for membership in the National Junior Honor Society.

To be eligible she had to have a cumulative average of 90% or better. Final membership was determined by evaluation of her service, leadership, and character by a faculty member.

And they still let her in!

Oh, I'm just kidding 'cause I'm so stinkin' proud of her!

Her induction ceremony will be next Monday night and I can guarantee I'll take too many pictures.

Way to go Rea!

Oh, Barnacles!

She can be in a dead sleep in my arms when it starts. She'll pop her head right up, turn and listen until the end. Only to close her eyes and head right back to her sweet slumber upon its completion.

Dang SpongeBob SquarePants and double-dang his silly, nap-interrupting theme song.

I'm thinking of going back to work

If they'll have me.

And I'm not above begging for a position.

Feeling green

It was a wonderfully slow weekend around here. Sutton ended up not having a volleyball tournament and she was (gasp!) home all day. So, after enlisting the three girls' help with a little spring cleaning, they each set about to attend their numerous social obligations; Reagan and Keaton went to a spend-the-night party and Sutton went to dinner with friends.

Jimmy, the three little ones, and I had a leisurely dinner out and an early bedtime. Ahhhhhhh.

This morning I actually had everyone ironed and dressed early for church so we took a few pictures. With Rea and Keaton gone and Jimmy showering, here's who was left.

Peyton had her frog prince bishop dress on and her green polka dot squeakers that keep her marching all over the house.

Her brothers wanted in on the action.

Big sister couldn't be left out.

And Mom...

...well, Mom just needed an excuse to play kissy-face.

Human pinata

Keaton (10) was recently assigned a book report. However, unlike book reports when I was a kid where you read the book and then wrote about it, Keaton was instructed to read it, write about it, make a poster, and then dress up like a character.

And unlike most children who would dress up like a main character described in depth throughout the entire book, Keaton chose to dress up as a pinata.

Mentioned briefly.

In chapter 4.

*shrugs*

So here she is, my little bird pinata:

And yes, she did, in fact, distribute candy to her classmates. But better yet, she made a 100.

Granna's airplane ride

"Buckle up! We're taking off."

"Look Granna, the cars look like little ants."

"I guess it's time to land the plane, Landon. Granna's getting sleepy."

Compassion

Please don't leave my blog today without checking out this post from my sister's blog. David sent pictures of two little hungry girls asking him for food.

This whole war is just so, so sad.

Things I know now that I am one year old

I'm currently obsessed with doors. All doors. I like to open and shut them repeatedly. I stop only when I get my fingers caught and then I scream like there's no tomorrow.

I love other babies. I so love other babies that when I get near one, I can't contain my enthusiasm and sometimes I'm too rough. Sadly, my cousin Dayden is now deathly afraid of me.

When I wake up, I walk and walk and walk non-stop until it's time to eat or sleep. I will stop long enough to dump the kitchen trash can, but then I keep going.

And speaking of sleep, what's the big deal? I haven't slept more than two hours at a time in 365 days and I am doing just fine.

My parents, on the other hand, do seem a little grumpy.

Especially my mom.

I tried and tried to tell her that Landon was being mean to me in the back seat while she drove. Thank goodness she caught him biting my fingers last week. I bet, based on her and Dad's response, Landon won't EVER do that to me again.

Well, not that, but he'll probably think of something else.

That's okay, though...I've learned to scream, slap and pull hair.

I've recently discovered fresh strawberries with fruit dip, Yoplait Thick and Creamy, and Skinny Cow Mini Fudge Bars. When I'm having a rough day, any of those treats perk me right up.

Or Mommy can throw me in the air...I always cackle when she does that.

Well, it's been a fun year. I am so happy God sent me to this family. I know they love me and I am so in love with all of them. These next years are bound to be just as fun. When I look at where I started...

And realize what a great year it's been...

I can't help but get a little weepy.

Thank goodness I'm not as sensitive as my mother, though. Just writing this about put her over the edge. Someone get the woman a box of Kleenex.

Happy Birthday to me!
