Compassion

Please don't leave my blog today without checking out this post from my sister's blog. David sent pictures of two little hungry girls asking him for food.

This whole war is just so, so sad.

Things I know now that I am one year old

I'm currently obsessed with doors. All doors. I like to open and shut them repeatedly. I stop only when I get my fingers caught and then I scream like there's no tomorrow.

I love other babies. I so love other babies that when I get near one, I can't contain my enthusiasm and sometimes I'm too rough. Sadly, my cousin Dayden is now deathly afraid of me.

When I wake up, I walk and walk and walk non-stop until it's time to eat or sleep. I will stop long enough to dump the kitchen trash can, but then I keep going.

And speaking of sleep, what's the big deal? I haven't slept more than two hours at a time in 365 days and I am doing just fine.

My parents, on the other hand, do seem a little grumpy.

Especially my mom.

I tried and tried to tell her that Landon was being mean to me in the back seat while she drove. Thank goodness she caught him biting my fingers last week. I bet, based on her and Dad's response, Landon won't EVER do that to me again.

Well, not that, but he'll probably think of something else.

That's okay, though...I've learned to scream, slap and pull hair.

I've recently discovered fresh strawberries with fruit dip, Yoplait Thick and Creamy, and Skinny Cow Mini Fudge Bars. When I'm having a rough day, any of those treats perk me right up.

Or Mommy can throw me in the air...I always cackle when she does that.

Well, it's been a fun year. I am so happy God sent me to this family. I know they love me and I am so in love with all of them. These next years are bound to be just as fun. When I look at where I started...

And realize what a great year it's been...

I can't help but get a little weepy.

Thank goodness I'm not as sensitive as my mother, though. Just writing this about put her over the edge. Someone get the woman a box of Kleenex.

Happy Birthday to me!

A party fit for a princess

Poppy was feeling pretty too.

If, by chance, you (Hi Mom!) want to see the slide show and it's not playing, just refresh your page and it should play again.

Let her eat cake

And then the presents...

And after all those wonderful gifts, Aunt Fae's own digital camera was the favorite. That and a gift bag.

My birthday was completely awesome!

Yay me!!

First Birthday Princess Soiree

So we had a little party yesterday. It was full of fun and merriment and actual people.

Whom I will promptly blog about tomorrow.

When I recover.

From all that pink.

Flash Dancer

I can't look at these pictures of Peyton without thinking of Jennifer Beals and Flashdance. I know, I know...Jennifer wore leg warmers and Peyton is wearing Baby Legs, but still.

Note the uncanny resemblance:
