Hang on to your perfectly pressed panties: Big news (to me) in the wonderful world of ironing

If you've read my blog for a while, you know that I'm a big ironer (okay, I'm a little iron-obsessed). I've ironed my family's clothes every day since I was a young girl and have always used Faultless Spray Starch to ensure that crisp/stiff result. However, one limitation of spray starch I have always grappled with was the flaking of the starch on dark clothes.

I drives me CRAZY.

Another thing I think I've confessed on more than one occasion is that I am also cheap. While I'm not the couponer I was a few years ago, I have been fortunate enough to have been living off my stockpile of many items including can after can of spray starch. Sadly, I used my last can last week and had to (GASP) pay actual money for more. I was shocked to see the new design of my precious Faultless Starch on the store shelf:

and rushed home eager to take it on a test run.

Oh. My. Goodness. I'm in obsessive/compulsive heaven.

The spout is non-clogging which I so appreciate after 20+ years of running nozzles under hot water and scratching the opening with my fingernail to release the spray. The spray itself shoots forcefully and evenly out of the opening providing even starch coverage. But the big news to me is that I can spray Hayden's and Landon's navy blue school uniform pants and all of those jeans I feel the strange need to crease and there is NO FLAKING.

Please join me in a collective moment of silence.

OOOOO, I'm gonna have to try this when I run out of my old can!

Congratulations!! I so know your pain...but so don't share your ironing obsession. Man...if only they had that all those years ago and Dad would have been so flake free at school!!

Ohhh...and forgot to mention that my husband gets really upset when the can always leaks a little from the spray, then it sorta "rusts" and then drops rusty starch when the lil leak becomes a drop...not a happy man when that happens!

Ironing!? What's that? Throw those close in the dryer!

I gave you an award today!

Nikke, Whoo Hoo thanks! I'm headed over now.

Gina, David is right; I forgot about that rusty starch problem. And Dad would have looked MUCH better without all those pesky flakes...poor guy.

Helen, if I could figure out a way to get creases in those clothes from a quick toss in the dryer, my life would be so much simpler. Imagine all my free time!

You crack me up :)

My kids would never survive in your world - I don't think I've ever ironed their clothes before (I don't even iron my own! ;)

I never iron. But when I do, the flakes get to me. Ugh! I am happy to learn that when I do iron, from now on, I can do it flake-free. A small bright spot, but a bright spot, nevertheless!

Thanks Devin.

I had to laugh. I wish (not as much as my husband though!) that I liked ironing more. I even taught my teenage son to iron his own stuff so I didn't have to! Am I great or what.
Can't wait for my man to try out the new & improved Faultless Starch!

That pesky white stuff is one of the reasons I don't iron (okay, maybe just a cheesy excuse!). But seriously, I'm getting a can of that stuff this weekend...just in case I run into an emergency!
P.S. I tagged you on my blog! :)

I am with Helen on this one...I just can't muster up the effort to actually iron though I can stand in awe as I admire others "perfect creases." Alas, further proof you are just a better woman than me!!

Tiffany,
No way. Seriously, it's just a cheap form of therapy for me.

Aubrey,
Perfect! I need to teach more of my children to iron (and then be strong enough to let them do it...alone!) Your guy will LOVE the new stuff.

Steph,
Got it. I'll be over to your blog to check it out. THANKS!!

Jubilee,
Try it, you'll love it!

Andrea,
I promise it's not as weird around here as you think. My husband's wrinkles even everything out!
