Sadly, the honeymoon is over

When big sister Sutton left for college, the family dynamics changed. Each of the children moved up a level on the sibling food chain and it's been wonderful. Reagan (13) became the new eldest child, and Keaton (11) advanced from dreaded middle-child to a power-yielding second-in-command. These two have been getting along so well the past few months that we've been thinking that maybe we should have shoved Sutton out of the nest sooner.

Oh, I kid.

But lately these two siblings haven't gotten along so swimmingly. There are fits and tantrums and bickering like never before. Some days they are downright mean to each other and I am forced to intercede. Maybe it's the fact that they attend the same school this year. Maybe it's the fact that they still share a room. Maybe it's a natural phenomenon whereby sisters have just so much patience before they are forced to scratch each other's eyes out.

Or maybe it's hormones. (ding ding ding)

I really love the girls, but I sure hate the girl drama.

Got to you via BlogHer...

My oldest (15) left home this year and we were wondering what impact it would have. The thing is, she was so busy with her own stuff most of the time that we notice that there's one less place to set at dinner and that's about it. Sounds awful, huh?

I find mine go through ups and downs too. Some days they are so good to each other and play so nice and the next day all I do is referee fights and I don't even have any raging hormones. LOL.
