Hi, my name is Devin and I have a bow-dacious problem

I can't seem to help myself. I've been buying them since we found out she was a girl at the first ultrasound. There are 135 of them in the picture and that doesn't include the ones I didn't have room for or all the bigger ones I've saved from her sisters.

And don't get me started on the shoes: dress shoes, tennis shoes, squeaky shoes, sandals. Or the socks: plain socks, colored socks, cuffed socks, ruffled socks.

Now, lest you think too badly of me, I must remind you that I am CHEAP (really, REALLY cheap!) so most, if not all, of those bows and shoes have come from eBay or my local consignment store that I've bought with coupons.

But even I can see a problem here. I think I need to find a 12-step program geared toward breaking the vicious cycle of over-buying baby girl accessories.

I can hear me now:

God grant me the serenity
to accept that there are bows I cannot buy;
the courage to use the bows that I have;
and wisdom to know when to tone it all down.

Amen.

You are not alone!!! I need to go too!!! LOL!! :)

I just found your blog and you are the funniest!!! I love it!!!

Can I ask you where you found the bows with the white swiss polka dots?--I love them!!!

While I am feeding my addiction :) Would you mind sharing the e-bay sites you buy them from.

My "supplier" stopped making them and I need some new ones for fall!!! Thank you!!!!!!

Sounds like you have the start of something here . . . You and Crystal could start a bow swap! When you get tired of a set of bows, you swap.

But, I know how hard it is to put the quash on buying cute baby girl things. So many bows, so little time!

Crystal,
I'm so glad to know I'm not alone. I got the swiss dot bows at Sam Moon in Dallas. I checked their online site and they don't have them there so I guess you'll just have to come to Dallas! I don't buy from specific sellers on eBay, I buy from the cheapest sellers I can find on eBay. I also will buy from a seller who combines shipping so I get more bang for my buck.

I'm so sorry you lost your supplier. Do you have a Once Upon A Child nearby? I get tons of bows from there (new) and use my frequent buyer cards to save 25%. I also shop those expensive boutiques but only when they are running 75% off sales that are usually off season, but I'm patient, I can wait. I've bought a few from different mommy e-tailers, just google what you want and tons of sites pop up.

I'm sorry I don't have more specific details for you but as you can see I just accumulate bows from quite random places.
Let's hang in there sister!

Don't know if you ever shop etsy.com but one of the sellers is closing her doors and on July 27 she is having a huge sale on her bows... you need to go check it out! I already marked my calendar to go back to her store and check it out. It is Emma Lees Boutique on Etsy. She has very cute stuff in there.

I have three little girls and can't come close to that many bows. WOW that is an awesome collection. Now, I want to know how you keep them. I can't seem to keep track of all their different hair ties. They are all over the house and many get lost. Any tips?

Devin - You are cracking me up these days (loved the topless post!) You know, Chloe is 5 months old and I have yet to even start a bow collection... I need the opposite of you! I need bow therapy so that I know where to even begin! After having 2 boys, I am at a loss how to have a girly-girl!
