Field Day fun

I took 112 pictures. Only I would take 112 pictures of an elementary school's field day. Since it's late and I'm exhausted, I'll give you only the uncaptioned (is that really a word?) highlights.

A mini graduation with maxi cuteness

Landon had his pre-k graduation ceremony this morning and it was enough to make any strong momma a little misty. They pledged, they sang, they had donuts. AND he got the math award. LOL! I laugh because no one in my family (and I mean no.one.) has ever gotten a math award because we all pretty much stink it up when it comes to math. So WHOO HOO! Way to go Landon!

Holding the Bible during the beginning of the program.

Mrs. Donna, Landon's teacher.

He's just the sweetest boy. He makes me proud every single day.

Elvis has left the building

Keaton's music exploratory class was part of her school's choir program tonight. They had to research popular pop icons and then present important facts regarding the person. Keaton's group studied Elvis and Keaton was chosen to perform as the King himself. She was quite convincing.

While Hayden sat and watched every second of the choir performance, Landon and Peyton decided life was too short to sit there, so they got very busy.

Thank you. Thank you very much.

Show stopper

Hayden's second grade class assisted in the kindergarten graduation ceremony recently. The program was outstanding and Hayden couldn't have been more proud as he strutted his stuff on stage. As we left the building that night he beamed, "That was totally awesome!"

It definitely was.

Abundantly blessed birthday

A friend called me to say she scheduled a job interview for me, that I should meet her at this place at 11:00am so I could be introduced to the person doing the hiring. I showed up at the appointed time, resume in hand, and met my friend. We walked into the room for the interview and SURPRISE! It was a birthday party...for me! The most wonderful people were there. The most inspiring words were spoken. The most tears I had shed in a long time. I wish I would have had my camera because it was so beautifully decorated, pink and green. We laughed and ate and laughed some more, and the gifts kept coming.

I haven't ever had a birthday party with so many wonderful gifts.

Yes, I am.

Crazy days

Crazy Week at their school gave the boys ample opportunities to goof off. The Crazy Hair Day took a lot of time and they both swear they will never do it again. Note to self: Never use glitter glue in hair and on eyebrows.

They made the shirts and added the embellishment with the help of big sisters. The scary looking poses, though, are all their own.

Peyton tried her hardest to replicate her brothers' goofy looks, but her cuteness simply couldn't be stifled.

Tye dye tutoring

Thank goodness she's creative and patient. Reagan (14) took over and guided her siblings through the art of tye dyeing so the boys could have shirts for Crazy Shirt Day tomorrow. She and Keaton decided they needed a shirt as well so they decorated four shirts. The big shocker was that even though it was a very messy project, they cleaned up every last drop.

Hayden was very interested in helping (check out the gloves.)

Notice how everyone is sitting so quietly? Yeah, I'm in shock too.

On Crazy Hat Day you get to wear your crazy hat to school. However, my kids like to wear their hats every minute of the entire day.

But don't try to photograph Landon in a monkey hat because he might look like this.

My magnificent Mother's Day

I don't know if I could have planned a better day. I woke this morning to flowers and pancakes. I showered while sipping on a delicious Java Chip Frappuccino (heavenly). We went to church and left inspired. Lunch at home was lovely. The boys and I ran errands and shopped while the girls cleaned house (again, heavenly).

All of the wonderful goodies I was presented.

The first page of Hayden's Mother's Day gift to me was so sweet. (The second page is equally as precious but I won't make you read it too.) What's really great is I KNOW how much he hates to write in cursive and he did it anyway.

The real treat came tonight, however. A dear friend of mine had arranged for the children and I to have a meal at a local Italian restaurant. Reservations were made ahead of time and all we had to do was show up ready to eat...we fulfilled our duty with gusto. As we sat there waiting to order our meals, three orders of appetizers unexpectedly arrived. I had to quiet the squeals from our table.

The cheese sticks provided great entertainment.

As you can see, Peyton certainly enjoyed her Fettuccine Alfredo.

Almost as much as she loved lovin' on her brother.

I had to get a little sugar too.

Beautiful girls that worked hard to make the day special. They even surprised me with more flowers.

And just as we each claimed our stomachs were stuffed and we couldn't eat another bite, four huge desserts arrived. Had I known they were coming, I would have had my camera ready. As it turned out, my I'll-never-eat-again children somehow found room to inhale eat it all before I could get in a good picture. (I cannot lie. The Cappuccino Pie they we enjoyed is simply the ice cream pie version of the Starbuck's Java Chip Frappuccino I so dearly love and showered with this morning. So delicious.)

Thank you, dear friend, for the thoughtful gift. It was, much like the day I had with my children, simply wonderful.

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

I knew she was too quiet

"Okay, so you're probably not happy, huh Momma?"

"I simply couldn't help myself; I so love orange markers."

"You're not mad though, right?

"Ha! I didn't think so!"

Why I must check little boy pockets each morning before school

(Thankfully the cell phones are old and not in service.)

And this wasn't all of it.
