If it weren't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all

(The title is for all you Hee Haw fans out there.)

Yesterday we rented a "party barge," but since we pack juice boxes, bottled water, and sandwich fixins and since party really doesn't describe us, we'll call it a pontoon boat.

It was a great pontoon boat that allowed for several hours of boating down the river. We took in the beauty of the scenery:

We jumped off the sun deck of the boat into the water. (Okay, they jumped off the sun deck...I'm not stupid.)

And then our engine fell half-way off and we had to be pulled by a jet ski back to the marina. It was a long process but the views were amazing.

After our "three hour tour," Jimmy went to get the RV and pick us all up and, wouldn't you know it, our generator wasn't working in the RV; all this while he was supposed to be on a very important business-related conference call. So he played phone tag with the RV place and fielded work calls asking why he wasn't on this uber important conference call, and then lost what little battery he had left on his cell phone.

To top it all off, the doctor who performed Sutton's back procedure last week was unavailable to fax a release to the university (we know because of the many, MANY phone calls we made begging them to do so) so she wasn't allowed to work out with the team, AND the team doctor has diagnosed her with some new back issues requiring further testing and daily physical therapy. She was quite unhappy.

There is more (so much more) but I hate to sound whiny.

This dropping-your-child-off-in-another-state-for-four-years thing sure is stressful.

"Gloom, despair and agony on me."
